research project TheraTex, DXM–kunsthochschule weißensee berlin, 2022
The Theraex dressing aid was developed within the framework of the research project TheraTex, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Individuals afflicted with hemiparesis often encounter challenges in dressing themselves, thereby impeding their ability to lead an independent daily life. The Dressing aid represents a prototype meticulously designed for operation with a single hand, offering assistance to those affected in donning their garments.
The comprehensive development of the entire conceptual framework, operational design, prototypical constructive realization of the device, and the electronic control system, including the incorporation of interfaces with the garment, were integral components of the innovative process. The Dressing aid prototype serves as proof of a committed effort to ease the challenges faced by people dealing with hemiparesis, ultimately helping them become more independent in their daily routines.
